Just got to thinking on this one. I've done several projects previously with low cycle battery, 400 to 1000 watt inverter with a 12volt DC 70 watt solar panel for portable power.
If I were to put ten sports car batteries in a series to equal 120 volts and just supply a regular old Home Depot outlet, I technically wouldn't even need an inverter, would I? Would I probably have almost unlimited wattage surge power equalling to the 10 batteries' max?
How roughly speaking continuous wattage among the 10 batteries?
How would I go about regenerate all ten batteries, if I do not necessarily have 10 solar panel for each of the 10 batteries?
Some type of converter?

Exenon is right , don't muck about with high voltage DC . You should read some history and you find Edison lost trying implement DC , tooo unsafe. If you got a converter and change it too AC then you discussion. Much lower amperage up there too.
This will give you 120 volts DC not a usable voltage for most home applications. You would also requirement a solar panel for each battery. The only things the mobile would run for sure are incandescent lights,. maybe heaters, but not the fan for the heater. It is not a practical application for the sparkle needed or we would have done it years ago. Also the batteries will need to be disposed of eventually and the head and acid are considered hazardous in many areas. Source(s): 50+ years surrounded by the electrical industry.
NO it won't work, the inverter is to convert DC into AC similar to household supply, The waveform tends to be squarish, wheras the house current has a proper sine wave. Household appliances ONLY work on AC
Don't experiment beside high voltage DC from your batteries.
I don't know much about of the batteries, but surrounded by the army I was a tank commander, and there we used to own 4 big batteries, connected, to start the enormous 38800cc engine.... So I suppose that you will have a hell of a see.
