Teacher Wants Me To Make A Solar Panel?

My conceptual physics teacher have asked the class to each create their own solar panel as our final project surrounded by this class.

Nothing big and fancy, it's just a highschool project;
And he doesn't want us to spend any money on it.
He say that most of the things that are necessary materials for the project can be found around the house.

I can probably spend up to twenty or twenty five dollars on it; but I own no idea what to do.

Can't spend tons of money, and we're getting grade for designs, so not too simple but not rocket science either.

Any suggestions??
Answers:
Go buy a lemon and stick a piece of copper and a piece of zinc within one of the lemons. Then hook up a TINY light bulb (you could I don`t know use an LED but make sure the anode is connected to the zinc plate). Tell your professor that the sunlight fed the tree which grew the lemon which supplied the electrons for the following redox hostile response:

At the anode, zinc is oxidized:

Zn → Zn2+ + 2 e-

At the cathode, hydrogen is reduced:

2H++ 2e- → H2
Well, you can't build a photo-voltaic cell at home. This is one that generate electricity from solar rays. It requires complicated manufacturing processes.

That leaves solar concentrators approaching hot water heaters, where on earth the sun's rays are concentrated with mirrors to bake water.

Water within a pan beside heavy duty aluminum foil reflectors is a start.
It's a well brought-up thing he give you the assignment and not us.
given that a solar panel is just a buncha photocells connected together , this might do it. Take a look, then posterior "photocell.htm" off of the url and stir to the home page, "http://home.earthlink.net/~lenyr/index.... one of my favorite sites--this guy is a real tinkerer. Love it!
he never said he considered necessary you to convert sunlight into electricity using a silicon substrate did he? If not do what is done in the solar industry. Make a solar base heat exchanger. Use sunlight to fry a liquid contained by tubing and pump it.

think outside the box
