Making your own solar filter?

I was wondering if anyone have a step by step process to make your own solar filter for telescopes. I've tried the Baader site but I don't get what's going on and hope that someone will any show an easier step by step process or a link to an easier path to. Thanks!

The knob is getting the right material which is a special excellent mylar (a thin sheet of metal sandwich between layers of plastic).

The cheap sort (unsafe for solar viewing) is used for some prepared food (bags of potato chips and even sliced bread).

The good stuff is solely found in specialized stores. It's expensive. I found that once you adopt to pay the concrete price, you might as well obtain it already mounted for your telescope (a few dollars more)

There is an article titled 'Homemade Mylar filter' by Eduardo Vega, in Sky & Telescope, February 1998. He does explain how to kind one (after you purchase the aluminized mylar).
I followed the instructions on the Astro-Physics site short any difficulty, and made an excellent solar filter. I don't think the instructions could be any simple or clearer.
I don't think here *is* a simpler way than what the Baader site shows:
1) Make a short cardboard cylinder that fits efficiently but snugly over the end of your telescope.
2) Cut a couple of cardboard rings to fit on the conclusion of the cylinder, with inside diameter appropriate for your aperture.
3) Sandwich a piece of filter matter between the two rings, taking care not to stretch or wrinkle it.
4) Glue this "filter cell" to the rend of your cardboard tube.
