Has anyone ever see a total solar eclipse?

I've always considered necessary to see one. What was it similar to?
Answers:
Yes, the associates who saw it.
Yep. It was pretty cool. It get dark resembling twilight.
I be in Moscow Idaho give or take a few 20 years ago during a total solar eclipse. The day turned to hours of darkness, the street lights came on, it be really eerie. It last for about 5-10 minutes previously it became pale again.
Here is a video of one surrounded by Turkey. Watch it, not the same but going on for as close as you can get.

Sure is weird to experience one in folks.
i haven't. but i heard they come resembling every 75 years. or something with a 75.
I own seen a couple of them. The lighting get softer and the temperature cools down a touch as well. My co-worker have a telescope and we watched it for moderately a while. (His telescope had the proper filter to prevent eye damage!) It is something I'll never forget. I be able to see the outline of the moon as it crossed the sun. It be very surreal. It is something that everyone should experience at smallest once in their lifetime.
me, some fat guy jump off the diving board at the pool
I saw one several years go, we video tape it in time lapse, it be really something to behold. I just checked out NASA's trellis site and it looks like one will know how to be seen August 1st of 2008. Mark your calendar *wink*
I've see a few. My dad is an amateur astronomer and when I was a kid we took a house vacation one time specifically to see one. We be driving in Northern Wisconsin on a two-lane state highway when it started. My dad pulled the vehicle over in a clearing and we get out to watch it.

He have brought his telescope and attached this special filter so we could look through it and watch the Earth's shadow move slowly within front of the Sun. It got really unlit, like at dusk, and the crickets started chirping. That be wierd.

Since I was a kid at the time, I remember getting board beside it before it be over. But now, looking spinal column it was a pretty cool piece to see.
no but im pretty sure that would be so cool! =]
id see in your mind`s eye its beautiful
I've seen two total solar eclipse, one in Quebec within 1963 and one in Libya concluding year. If there is ever an eclipse in travelling distance, go and see it. You can't look directly at the Sun during the partial phases, but usually in that are special filters available which are sheltered. Once the Moon is fully covering the Sun, it's perfectly nontoxic to look at with your in the nude eye, and is one of the most amazing spectacles you will ever see in your time.

It's a tragedy that the media put such a alarm on people roughly looking at an eclipse, since it's perfectly undamaging during the total phase, which is the most beautiful part of the pack.
I saw one as a child with my grandfather. He brought home a weld hood from his shop and he and I sat on the veranda and watched the unbroken thing! It be awesome! Not to mention it was something really special to share near my grandpa! Thanks for the question that sparked such a wonderful memory!
I seen one. I be at q-marts, And it happened, every one be stairing at the sky and I asked what was going on. They said "its a eclipse." I be scared cuz it be different for me. What happens is some shaddow from another planet coveres the moon so You wouldnt see the moon and every entry turns all black surrounded by the sky accept the stars. And consequently the moon slowly appears again.
i have see a few.

its really cool

expecially when you see baileys beads
yeah, fund in 1999. when the moon get between the earth and the sun, a ring of oil lamp surrounds it.

I other thought if you stared directly into an eclipse you would go blind. That's what someone told me. So I'd consider no one have actually see one directly. You have to look through something I reflect.
Yes. Backyard surrounded by a suburb of Rochester, NY. Early afternoon. Did the pinhole-through-cardboard projection. Was most impressed that I could make that work. (c.1954?) (That's checkable. I'm not doing the research.)
