You mean the pathway lights that you just stick within the ground? The one's I've seen work fine but are flimsy and usually capture broken if you're not careful.

You are better bad with one of the types beside a plug in transformer/timer and run the lead along the path to the lights. These are not tough to install.
They are cool.. They do work. They are like hours of darkness lights. They are kinda fragile, so you have to mind your Ps and Qs of like yank the garden hose on them and such, But I have have mine for ten years and they are still going strong.. You need more than you reason..
